Imagine being somewhere, dancing, at your own pace, feeling the music, having fun, feeling just comfortable enough to somehow live in that moment and don’t think about anything else.
Suddenly a slightly too excited voice takes over the mic and says something that completely throws you out of your self esteem lane: “and now… LIMBO!!”
Limbo? Never did that, maybe tried as a kid? It looks funny, is it hard? I guess I am able to do it. I am gonna try!

Everybody lines up, the bar is high up, you just have to bend a little bit. Well that was easy.. everybody does it and goes back in line moving to the rhythm of some 80ies caribbean version of a song we all heard before. Everybody’s vibin’, having a blast.
The bar goes a little lower and Teresa is killing it! Daniel is too tall and struggles but still gets through, Maeve bends forward: she’s out of the game.
What do you do then, you just stand on the side and watch the others have fun? Will you get a chance to try again? I mean, it is not something one practices at home.. right?
Next round the bar is set lower, more and more “dancers” can’t make it and are out, in a circle watching who’s still in the race, watching them bend back, fall over, stumble on the stick, make fancy moves, laying on the floor.
Some of them get more shy with every round, some just stop, some really think they are good at it and some others truly are!
Do the Limbo dance – David Hasselhoff
It is fun and painful to look at, at the same time.
You were out at round 4, but still had fun. Actually you were happy that you could go back to just dancing and enjoying yourself. What did you take away from this little Limbo interlude anyways?
Well there’s always something to take away from every experience, and while you might not be the Limbo king, you still tried.
And that, my friends, is life.
We just wing it whenever the Limbo song comes on: we might be good at it, or we kinda suck.. but hey, we put ourselves out there, and that is cool enough to tell a good story.
We are doing great:
Everybody bends differently, but we all deserve to have fun.
Cuz’ life is fun!!
(at least sometimes)
